Boldness, clarity and wisdom for fundraising professionals
Today’s post has not one thing to do with fundraising. It’s about serving others. Each year as I’ve gotten older and Mother’s Day approaches I’ve noticed most people I come into contact with assume I have children.
In the winter (and this spring!) when it’s snowy and cold I walk at the mall near my home early in the morning. Yeah. I’ve become one of “those mall-walker” people.
I have plenty of time to think and since the stores are closed I notice things I don’t normally see.
Today, also known as Valentine’s Day, is the day we tell others how much we love and appreciate them. I have the honor and pleasure of meeting you, talking to you, and seeing your hard work throughout the year. The interactions I have with you fill my bucket!
Time and time again I’ve watched organizations struggle with engaging their supporters. The trouble often stems from using boring, ineffective communication. Word choice matters!
