Don’t Lower Your Expectations to Meet Performance

As nonprofit leaders, keep this in mind: “Don’t lower your expectations to meet performance.”

Too often I see goals lowered, including fundraising goals, because so few believe they’re possible.

Instead I encourage you to set goals, especially fundraising goals, based on what it actually takes to change or save lives. Don’t hold back. Share the truth. Share the vision and possibility for a future with ALL the right resources.

It might mean scheduling some board training, learning how to shift your thinking, or paying closer attention to your word choices.

Whatever you do, make certain you are supported by someone who believes in YOU.

Don't lower expectations to meet performance.
